mother was a dressmaker for royalty in Europe, and used Lily and her sister as models for dresses. Lily never mentioned her origins or anything about the father of her son Carl.”

Terry said that “Lily had a marvelous garden which was once photographed for Home and Garden Magazine. She was on TV and was nationally known for her lectures on flower arranging. At times, she created arrangements for the Metropolitan Museum and for major department stores. She once worked for W. A. Burpee, and named  flowers for her two granddaughters. By 1936 she had won 150 ribbons in Flower Arrangement competitions. Once when she was in New Orleans she was given the key to the city.”  Lily died in 1986.

Children. Carl, (1910-1991) Lily’s son who was adopted by Bob, married Norma Brand and they had no children. Carl was a geologist working in oil and gas exploration and lived for many years in New Orleans.  Bobby (1921-2013) worked for Western Electric. He married Jane Pfeiffer. They had two daughters: Barbara, born in 1947, and Terry, born in 1951.  Barbara is married to Jerry Ringle and lives in Santa Ana, California. Terry is married to David LaBonne and lives in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts.
