It’s the cover of the Standard Oil Company (SOCAL) monthly bulletin from February 1922 and is offered for sale through this website. Their description says:
“Painted cover by Robert Kearfott – Balboa Bridge, San Diego. Feature articles on Across River and Ravine and He Helped Tacoma Grow. Black & white photos throughout.”
I looked for images of the “Balboa Bridge” online, but instead found a wikipedia page featuring Selected Pictures from San Diega county (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:San_Diego_County/Selected_pictures) which showed the bridge as the “Cabrillo Bridge” with a link to its own page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabrillo_Bridge).
The opening description says, “The Cabrillo Bridge in San Diego, California is a historic pedestrian and automobile bridge providing access between Balboa Park and the Uptown area of San Diego. It was nominated for the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.”
I guess RRK was a little ahead of the National Register in recognizing a cool place…
